Course Overview


The rationale for the qualification is that it provides a career path for learners who wish to develop a broad base of knowledge and skills that will enable them to work in a variety of roles in the information technology (IT) industry, notably in programming, website design or PC maintenance. The technical skills and knowledge delivered through the successful achievement of the qualification are required and recognised internationally.
The diploma is accredited at Level 4 and has a total equivalence of 120 credits.

  • PC Maintenance and Operating Systems
  • Computer Graphics Editing and Database Concepts

Elective Units (40 credits)

  • Logical IT Networking
  • Physical IT Networking
  • Web Programming
  • Graphical User Interface (GUI)
  • Programming Concepts and Java for Android Programming

Entry requirements

For entry onto the Qualifi Level 4 Diploma in Information Technology qualification, learners must possess:

  • Relevant NQF/QCF/RQF Level 3 diploma in Information Technology or anyother equivalent recognised qualification
  • Industry experience for at least three years

Equivalences

Qualifi qualifications at RQF Level 4 represent practical knowledge, skills, capabilities and competences that are assessed in academic terms as being equivalent to programmesatthelevel of Bachelor’s Degrees.

Delivery:

The qualification is delivered via Instructor-Led live presentations and tutorials to guide your online distance learning.

Assessment and verification

All units within this qualification are internally assessed by assessors and verifiers at the Caribbean Polytechnic Institute and externally verified by Qualifi. The qualifications are criterion referenced, based on the achievement of all the specified learning outcomes.

To achieve a ‘pass’ for a unit, learners must provide evidence to demonstrate that they have fulfilled all the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by all assessment criteria. Judgement that the learners have successfully fulfilled the assessment criteria is made by the Assessor.
